Taking place Saturday October 12 at 5:00 PM in the private community of Mountain Air near Burnsville, NC, this race offers a unique course and views of the fall leaves including one of the best finish lines in Western North Carolina.

2019 Ascent At Mountain AirThe Setting – The Ascent At Mountain Air 5K will offer a one-of-a-kind road course winding through the private roads of the Mountain Air community, outside of Burnsville, which is 45 minutes from Asheville and only an hour from Johnston City, TN.

Challenging Course – The Ascent At Mountain Air 5K is definitely not for the faint at heart. Climbing 1,800 feet from start to finish, this will be one of the more challenging courses in the region. If you loved the Bearwallow Beast 5K or The Bear, this race is definitely for you!

Best Finish Line In The Mountains – You must see it to believe it. After climbing 1,800 feet, racers will end on a private runway sitting at 4,600 feet and offering 360-degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Best of all, the Ascent At Mountain Air 5K takes place during the peak of leaf season!

Tasty Post Race Meal – Tacos from Twisted Laurel and beers from Upcountry Brewing will be waiting for racers at the finish line.
