Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon & 5K – Join us for this great fall race in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains on Saturday, September 12, 2020. This event is famous for its generous swag package, picturesque courses, local culture and amazing post-race meal.
Welcome back to the ninth edition of the Cherokee Harvest 5K. This regional favorite will take place on Saturday, September 12 and will once again have it’s famous swag, scenic courses and amazing post-race food and drink.
This race will be part of the new Cherokee Firestorm Endurance Weekend which also includes the the Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon and Fire Mountain Inferno Enduro and Cross County mountain bike races. We hope you will join us.
Online registration will open on Sunday, March 1 at 9:00 AM EST and close on Thursday, September 10 at 9:00 PM EDT.
The 5K is limited to 250 runners

Registration Protection Insurance Program
Through our registration platform, IMAthlete, we are offering this insurance from Allianz Global Assistance. Those purchasing this insurance during online registration are eligible to be reimbursed for the cost of your registration fee should you become injured or another event procludes you from racing. It does not cover COVID-19, including registration fees lost due to races being postponed or cancelled because of the pandemic.
Should you not purchase the insurance at the time of registration, you have 14 days to go back and purchase it should you decide at a later time you want it.

All events take place at the Cherokee Fairgrounds in Cherokee (545 Tsali Boulevard).
The 5K course takes place in the heart of Cherokee and will start and finish at the Cherokee Fairgounds. There will be one aid station on the course serving water.

Our new home has a number of amenities the former one did not including, permanent bathrooms, showers (bring your own towel), and the capability to move inside should the weather turn nasty.
All runners registered by September 1 are guaranteed to receive a long-sleeve tech running shirt, a beanie and pair of gloves.
Note: The tech shirts are in unisex sizing and run a half-size large so plan accordingly when choosing your size.
Each 5K finisher will receive a commemorative finisher award.
Special awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers for Overall finishers and First place Masters (40 & Over) in each race.
Age group awards will go to the first, second and third male and female in the following age groups: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over. No double dipping!
The race will utilize chip timing. A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.
Parking behind the Museum of the Cherokee next to the Festival Grounds is prohibited.
Race parking will be in front of the Festival Grounds, in and around the Council House complex to the south and in a large field on Tsali Boulevard next to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Follow the instructions of the parking attendants.

From Asheville (approximately 1:15 hours)
Take I-40 west to exit 27 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue west on U.S. 74 past Waynesville, Sylva, and Dillsboro to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S.Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Tsali Boulevard. The Cherokee Fairgrounds are approximately .3 miles on the left.
From Knoxville, TN (approximately 2 hours)
Take I-40 east into North Carolina to exit 27 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue west on U.S. 74 beyond Waynesville, Sylva, and Dillsboro to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S. Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy. 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Tsali Boulevard. The Cherokee Fairgrounds are approximately .3 miles on the left.
From Atlanta, GA (approximately 2.5 hours)
Take I-85 north to I-985 which becomes U.S. 23 north, and eventually becomes U.S. 23/441 north. You will travel through the towns of Clayton, GA, Franklin, NC, and Dillsboro, NC. Just beyond Dillsboro, take U.S. 74 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway) west to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S.Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy. 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Tsali Boulevard. The Cherokee Fairgrounds are approximately .3 miles on the left.
Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.
If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is not sold out.
If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is sold out.
Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2021 event.

This policy only applies to the Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon & 5K. Discount codes from the previous year may not be used for any other events owned or managed by Glory Hound Events or its partnerships.
Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through September 7 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.
