Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon & 5K – Join us for this great fall race in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains on Saturday, October 20.  This event is famous for its generous swag package, picturesque courses, local culture and amazing post-race meal.

Thank you to everyone who came out on a rainy Saturday.  We are grateful to our runners; their supporters; all of the volunteers who helped in the rain; Cherokee fire, EMS, and police; our loyal sponsors including Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and their culinary and guest safety team and our great staff.  Results and the link to photographs are posted below.

Registration

Race Capacity

In order to provide the best possible experience for our 5K runners, the race is capped at 500 participants.

All events take place at the site of the old Acquoni Events Center on Acquoni Road in Cherokee.

Course

The 5K course takes place in the heart of Cherokee and will start and finish in the parking lot of the old Acquoni Events Center.

Swag

We have ordered enough swag for everyone to receive a long-sleeve tech running shirt and our famous hoody, both in unisex sizing.  The availability of certain sizes is not guaranteed, especially as we get closer to the race being filled.

Note:  The tech shirts run a half-size large so plan accordingly when choosing your size.

Post Race

The post race meal will be provided by the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Culinary Department.  This has always received rave reviews from our runners and we can’t wait to see what they come up with for this year.

Awards

Each 5K finisher will receive a commemorative finisher award.

Special awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers for
 Overall finishers and First place Masters (40 & Over) in each race.
Age group awards will go to the first, second and third male and female in the following age groups: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over. No double dipping!

Timing

The race will utilize chip timing.  A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.

Parking

The primary parking area is at the Acquoni Events Center. Once that parking lot is full and for those arriving after 7:30 AM, you will be directed to a number of parking areas along Acquoni Road. Note: Acquoni Road will close to traffic at 7:45 AM so if you need to leave before the race ends, plan on parking outside of the race zone.

Directions
From Asheville, NC (approximately 1 hour)
Take I-40 west to exit 27 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue west on U.S. 74 past Waynesville, Sylva, and Dillsboro to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S.Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Acquoni Road. The Acquoni Events Center is approximately .7 miles on the left.

From Knoxville, TN (approximately 2 hours)
Take I-40 east into North Carolina to exit 27 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue west on U.S. 74 beyond Waynesville, Sylva, and Dillsboro to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S. Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy. 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Acquoni Road. The Acquoni Events Center is approximately .7 miles on the left.

From Atlanta, GA (approximately 2.5 hours)
Take I-85 north to I-985 which becomes U.S. 23 north, and eventually becomes U.S. 23/441 north. You will travel through the towns of Clayton, GA, Franklin, NC, and Dillsboro, NC. Just beyond Dillsboro, take U.S. 74 (Great Smoky Mountains Expressway) west to exit 74, Cherokee. U.S.Hwy 441 will take you into Cherokee. Turn right on US Hwy. 19. Turn left at second traffic light – Acquoni Road. The Acquoni Events Center is approximately .7 miles on the left.

Refunds/Transfers

Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.

If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2019 event.

To cancel or update your registration, go to www.IMAthlete.com, log in, My Races, select this event and make your changes.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through October 15 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.

We have spots available at Friday and Saturday registration and at the course aid stations.
