Drovers Road & Hickory Nut Gap 8K/15K

Beautiful Hickory Nut Gap in Fairview, North Carolina will be the site of the inaugural Drovers Road/Hickory Nut Gap 8K/15K on Saturday, September 1.  Both races will offer a combination of trail and dirt roads within in the Drovers Road community and on adjacent roads.  Following the races, participants will enjoy food and drink from Hickory Nut Gap Farms and other local vendors.

The Drovers Road Community, Hickory Nut Gap Farms and Glory Hound Events are excited to announce the inaugural Drovers Road & Hickory Nut Gap 8K/15K on Saturday, September 1.  Both races will be held on trail and dirt roads, including the historic Drovers Road.

Location

The start/finish and parking will be adjacent to the Old Sherrills Inn (50 Clarke Lane, Fairview), about 25 minutes south of Asheville.

Registration

Online registration will open Thursday, March 1 at 9:00 AM and close at 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 30.

8K

Early Registration (March 1-May 31) – $25

Regular Registration (June 1-July 31) – $30
Late Registration (August 1-Race Day) – $35

15K

Early Registration (March 1-May 31) – $30

Regular Registration (June 1-July 31) – $35
Late Registration (August 1-Race Day) – $40

Courses

Both races will run the same course with the 8K completing it once and the 15K, twice.  They will be run primarily on single-track trail with some dirt roads and pasture for the 15K runners.

Saturday, September 1 – 7:00-8:45 AM – Old Sherrills Inn

Stuff

Each pre-registered runner will receive a special, one-time race shirt to mark the occasion.  There may be shirts available to those who register on-site on race day.

Post-Race

Post-race food and drink be provided by Hickory Nut Gap Farms and other local businesses near the Old Sherrills Inn.

Awards

The awards ceremonies will take place near the finish line and food area. In both races overall awards will be given to the top 3 male/female and top male/female masters.  Age group awards will be given in the following age groups:  15 & Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & Over.

If you cannot stay for the awards ceremony, please ask a friend to pick it up for you.

Parking

Parking will be located near the Old Sherrills Inn.  Please follow the signs and instructions of the volunteers.

Refunds/Transfers

This event has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.

If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2019 race and will be valid for 12 months after the event date.
