The Highland Brewing Night Flight is everyone’s favorite twilight race and back for its fifth year on Saturday, July 28 at 7:30 PM. The 4.5-mile East Asheville course will take runners through the Asheville Golf Course, through the Beverly Hills neighborhood (where you will be showered with cheers from the residents) and past the WNC Nature Center before finishing back at the brewery. This year’s finish line, post race party and awards ceremony will be at the Meadow. Glow swag will be provided, dressing up is always encouraged, and there will be beer waiting for you at the finish line! 100% of race proceeds go to the Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation.
Online registration is now open for the 2018 race. It will close on Thursday, July 26 at 9:00 PM. On site registration will be accepted at the dates and times below.
February 1-February 28 – $28 (No shirt – deduct $5)

The Highland Brewing Night Flight rolling course will take you from Highland to the Beverly Hills neighborhood of East Asheville and through the Asheville Municipal Golf Course. As you leave Beverly Hills there will be a downhill section before crossing Swannanoa River Road and hooking up with Azalea Road before taking Gashes Creek Road to the its end where you will meet up with a trail leading back to the brewery. Lights will mark key sections of the course and the course will be staffed with volunteers and police throughout. Reflective clothing and other blinking lights are encouraged but not required.
While the course is not designed for walkers, walkers who can maintain a minimum pace of 15 minutes per mile are welcome!

Mission Health My Generation Running Series
All participants in the Highland Night Flight are automatically entered in this innovative new series that awards points based not on the age group you ran in but your generation.
Centennials or Gen Z (born in the year 1996 or later)
Millenials (born in the years of 1985-1995)
Generation X’ers (born in the years 1965-1984)
Baby Boomers (born in the years 1946-1964)
Traditionalists (born in the years 1945 or earlier)
Runners in these races plus those in the Asheville Catholic School Shamrock 5K/10K (March 17), Festival Frenzy 5K (May 26), and Super Hero 5K & Super Villain 10K (September 22) will earn points toward a grand prize pool of $6,500.
Following Night Flight, all runners will receive an email with race results in the My Generation format and current standings.
Runners over 21 with their IDs at check-in will be wrist-banded. For those runners, a ticket will be on your bib will be good for one pint of any year-round or seasonal beer at the post-race party. Each runner will receive a special, one-time race shirt to mark the occasion.
Due to a high priority on the security of your items, we will not have a bag drop area at the race. Please pick up your packet and return to your car for storage.
There will be a huge post race party in the Meadow following the race with snacks, awards, and of course, beer.
The awards ceremony will take place at approximately 9:00 PM on the Meadow stage.
Special commemorative awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers for Overall and Masters (40 & Over). Age group awards will go to the first, second and third male and female in the following age groups: 18 & Under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over. No double dipping! If you cannot stay for the awards ceremony, please ask a friend to pick it up for you. Awards are fragile and cannot be mailed.
Asheville Track Club
The race will be part of the 2018 Grand Prix Series. Club members will earn points for participating in this race.
The race will utilize chip timing. A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.
Highland has room for about 450 cars at the brewery. Car pooling is very much encouraged.
Highland Brewing has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.
If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days days before the event, if the event is not sold out.
If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is sold out.
Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received.
Discount codes can be used to register for the 2019 race and will be valid for 12 months after the event date.
Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted by submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.
