Welcome to the inaugural Mighty Four Miler to Benefit the Riley Howell Foundation Fund in beautiful Waynesville, North Carolina.  We are privileged to honor the sacrifice and heroism of Riley Howell and the support the efforts of the foundation with this fun race.  This race will be run in conjunction with the Gateway to the Smokies Half Marathon.

The Gateway to the Smokies Half Marathon & Mighty Four Miler has been postponed until Saturday, October 24.

Should you not be able to attend the new date, you can cancel your entry and receive a 100% credit for the 2021 races.  You may transfer your entry to another person up until October 19, 2020.

To cancel, go to www.IMAthlete.com, log in, click My Events (from the global nav), Click the Manage Registration link next to this event, Select Cancel Registration, and follow the rest of the steps to cancel.

Please understand this decision did not come lightly and was made based on you and your family’s wellbeing and all those who would have attended this event.  We hope you will join us in October as we continue to celebrate Riley’s life and legacy.

Online registration will open on Tuesday, September 3 at 9:00 AM and will close on Thursday, October 22 at 9:00 PM.

Swag

All runners registered by October 12 are guaranteed to receive a race shirt.  Any registrations after this date will be based on availability.

Awards

Special prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female, top Masters (40 & Over) male and female and top Grand Masters (50 & Over) male and female.  Our friends at Jus’ Running in Asheville will be providing gift cards for the top 3 overall male and female ($75-1st, $50-2nd, $40-3rd); top male and female Masters ($40) and top male and female Grand Masters ($40).

Age group awards will go to the first, second and third male and female in the following age groups: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over.

No double dipping!

Timing

The race will utilize chip timing.  A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.

Parking

All racers and spectators are encourage to park in the Haywood County Courthouse parking deck on Branner Avenue.

Refunds/Transfers

Glory Hound Events has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.

If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2020 event.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through March 30 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.
