Southcliff Black & Blue Classic

Southcliff Black and Blue
September 03, 2016
9:00 AM

The private trails of the Southcliff community in Fairview beckon you to run them with either the 6.5-mile Black race or 2.6-mile Blue race.  This race features the best prizes and post-race party of any in the area including a catered lunch and beer.

General Information

Both of the courses are being redesigned for 2016.  The main road of Southcliff will only be used in the beginning as we are putting more of the courses on trails and the upper roads of the community.  We will release the new course designs early in 2016.

What hasn’t changed is the hospitality.  We will continue our tradition of a catered post-race lunch and beverages from local producers, and the most generous awards in the area.

The race names are based on ski slope classifications. The Black Course is the hardest at between 6 and 7 miles while the easier Blue Course is between 2 and 3 miles.

The Black Race will start at 9:00 AM and the Blue Race at 9:05 AM at the gatehouse.

Registration will open on March 1 at 9:00 AM.

Race Cap: The event is capped at 150 runners per race.

Southcliff is famous for its awards. The top finishers in each race receive a custom piece of furniture from Appalachian Designs. We will announce in the coming months the specific pieces for 2016.

The top three in each group, male and female, will win gift cards to an area retailer ($30 for 1st, $20 for 2nd, $10 for 3rd). The age groups in both races are: 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & Over.

Please plan on being present for the awards ceremony or make arrangements for someone else to pick up your award. Awards will not be mailed.

Times will be based on gun times. Because of the intimate nature of the race, we will not be using timing chips.

Race parking will be in the Southcliff community near the main lodge. Members of the Fairview Fire Department will be there to direct you upon your arrival.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Runners may request a 50% credit towards the 2016 race through IM Athlete.

Runners may transfer their entry to another runner by completing the Transfer Form. The deadline for this is September 5, 2015.
