As we approach the last race of 2019, the Santa’s Showdown 5K for IFB Solutions on December 14, Glory Hound Events is excited to announce our 2020 race schedule. Kicking off with the extremely popular Asheville Catholic School’s Shamrock 5K/10K/Fun Run in March, the 2020 race season will feature many of Glory Hound Events signature events including the Lake Logan Multisport Festival, Fire Mountain Inferno XC & Enduro Weekend, and their newest race; the Land & Sky Relay. Also joining the schedule in 2020 is the Gateway To The Smokies Half Marathon, which is returning after a year hiatus and adding The Mighty Four Miler For The Riley Howell Foundation Fund. 2020 will also see a few milestones including 15 years of triathlon racing at Lake Logan in August and the 10th Anniversary of The Scream! Half Marathon in July.

And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook & Instagram for the latest news, races, and training tips. In the coming weeks we will be announcing details on the 2020 Land and Sky Relay, a new Men’s Health 5K (formerly the ZERO-Prostate event), and next year’s Santa’s Showdown.

So whether you’re a roadie or a trailhead, an uphill runner or a downhill runner, a mountain biker, a half marathoner, a triathlete, or someone just looking for a first 5K; there will definitely be a race for you in 2020. Mark your calendars and start your training, we hope to see lots of new faces at the starting line next year.

Celebrating the 14th year, this event always kicks off our race season and always has a great turnout. The 5K and a 10K both start and finish at ACS, running through the beautiful neighborhoods of North Asheville. A fun run kicks off the morning and is a favorite among the younger racers.

Returning to Cashiers, NC for a second year, this super flat & fast 5K race is the perfect way to get your 4th of July holiday started. Best of all it’s all for a great cause supporting the Blue Ridge Early College program.

One of the most unique half marathons in the country, The Scream! starts in Jonas Ridge, NC and drops over 2,400 vertical feet through the lush forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains finishing in the ghost town of Mortimer. The field is limited to 350 racers by the US Forest Service and is already more than half full.

Everyone’s favorite twilight race and back for a seventh year! The 4.5-mile East Asheville course takes runners through the Asheville Golf Course, around the Beverly Hills neighborhood and past the WNC Nature Center before finishing back at Highland Brewing Company for an amazing after-party. The best part of the race is that 100% of the race proceeds go toward the development of greenways in Asheville with over $60,000 being donated to date.

Presented by the Asheville School, the Lake Logan Multisport Festival returns for its fifteenth year of triathlon racing at Lake Logan! Individual races include the extremely popular Lake Logan Half (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run), the original Lake Logan International race (1500m swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run) and the Lake Logan Sprint (500m swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run).

About Glory Hound Events

Glory Hound Events was started in 2006, initially managing the historic Bele Chere 5K. Shortly after that first year the Lake Logan Triathlon was introduced and eventually became a part of the Lake Logan Multisport Festival. Glory Hound Events is now the largest endurance event management company in the Western North Carolina region, producing an average of twelve events annually. In addition to producing its own events and those for a variety of clients, Glory Hound Events offers consulting services for events outside of Western North Carolina looking to take theirs to the next level.
