Not only has the warmer weather arrived, so has the summer race season. After over a year of downtime, racing is back. There will be larger race capacities, full starts, award ceremonies, and even those post-race beers and afterparties everyone loves. Glory Hound Events is excited to present a great roster of summer races in the Asheville area. We are so excited to be back and look forward to seeing y’all at the starting lines this summer.
Summer Races In Asheville & WNC
Downhill At Dawn Half Marathon – May 29
This mostly downhill half marathon takes runners on a scenic combination of paved and forested gravel roads from the Ridgecrest Conference Center to Old Fort, NC.
The SCREAM! Half Marathon – July 10
One of our most popular races, this unique half marathon features 13.1 miles of pure downhill. The field is limited to 350 participants by the US Forest Service and sells out quickly each year.
Highland Brewing Night Flight – July 17
Asheville’s favorite twilight race and one of the best post-race parties around takes place at Highland Brewing Company. Best part of this race is that it’s all for a good cause. 100% of race proceeds go to supporting our greenways in Asheville and Buncombe County through our partners at Connect Buncombe.
