The Fire Mountain Inferno XC & Enduro Weekend will return for a third year to Cherokee, NC on May 2 & 3, 2020. Taking place at the Fire Mountain Trails System, known as some of the flowiest trails in the east, the Fire Mountain Inferno consists of two days of enduro and cross-country mountain bike racing for all levels of experience.
The weekend’s program will be similar to the past two years, featuring a day of enduro racing on Saturday and a day of cross-country racing on Sunday. The Enduro races will have four separate stages with various distances and elevation loss. Cross Country races will feature these categories: Beginner & Junior, Sport-Single Speed, Masters 40+, Masters 50+ and Expert.
All racers will receive an event shirt and special gift. Those racing both days, doing Dante’s Double, will receive a special event shirt and finisher prize at the cross country finish line.

The Fire Mountain Trails System are a network of trails with more than 10.5 miles total winding through the Qualla Boundary in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Cherokee NC is located just 1 hour from Asheville, two hours from Knoxville, TN and approximately 3 hours from metro Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC and Greenville SC.
The 2019 event attracted over 200 riders from all over the southeast, with the enduro races selling out long before the event date.
