DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 19th running of the Power of Pink 5K.  We hope you will join us again in Frog Level in Waynesville for a fun morning of running\, walking and raising money for this important cause.  Since the event was created in 2012\, it has raised over $200\,000\, which as provided 1\,975 mammograms and follow up procedures to over 1\,000 men and women in Haywood County.\nPlease join us so we can help even more people.\n2026 Race Date: Saturday\, September 19 – 8:30 AM\nRegistration \nOnline registration opens on Friday\, May 1 and will close on Thursday\, September 17 at 9:00 EDT. We anticipate there will be walk-up registration on race morning but shirts may be limited.

DESCRIPTION:Mountain Air and Glory Hound Events are excited to welcome everyone to the 10th anniversary of the Ascent on Mountain Air 5K on the evening of Saturday\, September 19\, 2026.  This 5K road race climbs 1\,800 feet\, from the community’s main gate near Burnsville to the private air strip on the top.  At 4\,600 feet elevation\, this is the most spectacular finish line in Western North Carolina.\n2026 Race Date: Saturday\, September 19 – 5:00 PM\nRegistration \nOnline registration will open Friday\, May 1 and close at 9:00 PM on Thursday\, September 17.  We will have walk-up registration on race day. \nBeneficiary \nAll proceeds from this year’s event benefit the Mountain Air Community Fund. \nLocation \nMountain Air is located off of Highway 19E in Burnsville just 45 minutes from Asheville and one hour from Johnson City. \n  \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Ready for one of the most unique races in Western North Carolina?\nThe AVL Runway 5K gives participants the rare opportunity to run directly on the airfield at Asheville Regional Airport. This one-of-a-kind course is fast\, flat and full of incredible views as the runners make their way along Taxiway Bravo beside the airport’s active runway and near AVL’s new air traffic control tower.\nWave to passengers as aircraft take off and land nearby while you experience the energy of the airport from an entirely new perspective.  Whether you are a seasoned runner\, aviation enthusiast\, or simply looking for an unforgettable race day\, the AVL Runway 5K is cleared for takeoff.\nProceeds from the race support aviation education initiatives and local nonprofit organizations\, helping inspire future aviators and strengthen our Western North Carolina community.\nSaturday\, October 3 – 10:00 AM\nRegistration: \nOnline registration will open on Monday\, June 1 and closes at 9:00 PM on Monday\, September 27 or when sold out. \nRace Cap: \nThe race is limited to 1\,000 participants \n Location + Parking: \nAll race-day activities will take place at the northwest corner of the airport.  Race parking is located in a designated area across from Corcoran River Park at 9 Pinner Road in Arden (use this address in your GPS).  Shuttles will take you and your supporters to and from the race/event venue.  Shuttles are the only way to access the event; walking from the parking area is not permitted. \nIMPORTANT: use Google Maps for directions; DO NOT use Apple Maps because it gives incorrect driving directions based on your starting point. You do NOT access the parking area via the airport campus. You will access Pinner Road from Glenn Bridge Road. \nNew for 2026: All runners and spectators will be required to go through a security screening prior to boarding a shuttle or accessing the race/event venue.  Look for a Security Screening tent in the parking area near the shuttle stop. Please keep personal items to a minimum; small or clear bags are recommended. AVL reserves the right to refuse admission for any bag\, parcel or other item.  Please leave yourself plenty of time for this added step. Prohibited items will not be permitted.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we celebrate the sixth Waynesville Sunrise Rotary Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving Day\, November 26th.  We cannot think of a better way to start the Thanksgiving holiday than with a run with family and friends around beautiful Lake Junaluska. As we like to say\, “first the huffin’; then the stuffin’!”\nRACE DAY: THURSDAY\, NOVEMBER 26 – 9:00 AM START\nOnline registration will open on Wednesday\, July 8 and will close on Monday\, November 23 (or earlier if the event sells out). \nRace Capacity \nWe are excited to announce the race capacity has been increased to 800 participants this year but we still expect the race to sell out well before Thanksgiving. For this reason we encourage you to register as early as possible.
