The Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K and its evil cousin, the Super Villain 10K, are returning to the Salvage Station on the river. Dress up and channel your inner super hero or super villain at either race and join us a great party afterward. For those wanting a smaller challenge but still join in the fun, the Super Walk is just for you.

Packet Pickup/Late Registration

Friday, September 18 – 4:00-6:00 PM – The Salvage Station (468 Riverside Drive)
Saturday, September 19 – 7:00-8:45 AM – The Salvage Station


Super Walk (1 Mile) – 8:15 AM Start
The Super Walk will include those wanting a shorter trip but the same Super experience. It will go down Riverside Drive to the train trestle and back.

Super Villain 10K – 8:30 AM Start
This race will start at 8:30 AM and head up Riverside Drive to Broadway and the Reedy Creek Greenway before heading up into Montford then returning to the Salvage Station.

Super Hero 5K – 8:30 AM Start
This race will also start at 8:30 AM and go the opposite direction as the 10K and will include flat sections on Riverside Drive and Craven Street and a few ups and downs in West Asheville.

Additional Info.

The Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K & Super Villain 10K are offering shirts for all events on an al a carte basis. These are short-sleeve, cotton blend shirts with the 2020 race art.

Post Race

All pre and post-race activities will take place at The Salvage Station. Post race refreshments will be provided along with a selection of beer from Asheville Brewing Company for our of-age runners. Near the finish line on the main stage will be live music and both awards ceremonies.

The 5K awards ceremony at approximately 9:45 AM with the 10K to follow at approximately 10:30 AM.


Special, commemorative awards will be given to the first three male and female overall and top male and female masters of both races.

Age group prizes will also be awarded in the following categories:

Super Hero 5K

12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

Super Villain 10K
15 & Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over

No ‘double-dipping’ in award categories

If you can’t stay for the awards ceremonies, please make arrangements for someone to pick it up for you. Awards will not be mailed.


Both races will utilize chip timing. A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.


Unfortunately dogs are not allowed to participate in this event, please leave Fido at home.


There is plenty of free parking at The Salvage Station.

Refunds & Transfers

The Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K & Super Villain 10K has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discount codes for cancellations during our cancellation periods. If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 30 days prior to the race date. If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 14 days prior to the race date. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2021 event and will be valid for 12 months after the event date.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through September 14 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.


We love our volunteers, who make the event possible. A majority of our volunteers will come from non-profit organizations. If you represent a non-profit looking for a fundraiser, please click HERE to view the opportunities available and register your organization.
