Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K and Super Villain 10K

The Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K/Super Villain 5K, Presented by Black Orthodontics, will return on Saturday, September 11 to where it all began 14 years ago. We are thrilled to be starting and finishing at Rabbit Rabbit, the incredible new event space next to Asheville Pizza on Coxe Avenue in Downtown Asheville.

The 5K and 10K will start at 8:30 AM. 

Registration

Online registration is now open and will close on Thursday, September 9 at 9:00 PM.

Race Cap

The total capacity for the event is 1,000 participants.

Super Villain 10K

Course(s)

Super Hero 5K 
The course starts will a fast, descent down Coxe Avenue before heading up to South French Broad and into the River Arts District before returning to downtown.  The 5K has 345 feet of ascent.

Super Villain 10K 
The 10K course will be a double loop of the 5K course and will have approximately 690 feet of climbing over the 6.2 miles.

Stuff

The Asheville Running Experience is offering shirts for all events on an ala carte basis.  These are short-sleeve, cotton blend shirts with the 2021 race art.

Post Race

The post-race party will take place inside Rabbit Rabbit and includes snacks for all finishers, beer from Asheville Brewing for those 21+ and other surprises.

The 5K awards ceremony at approximately 9:45 AM with the 10K to follow at 10:30 AM.

Awards

Special, commemorative awards will be given to the first three male and female overall and top male and female masters of both races.

Age group prizes will also be awarded. The categories will be announced prior to the event.

Timing

Both races will utilize chip timing. A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.

Parking

We highly recommend the Buncombe County Parking Deck at Coxe Avenue & Sears Alley, which is only two blocks north of Rabbit Rabbit (hourly fees apply).  There is some on-street parking in the South Slope and a large number of private, pay lots scattered around the district.

Cancellations & Transfers

Glory Hound Events has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.

If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Discount codes can be used to register for the 2022 event.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through September 4 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.

Volunteers

We love our volunteers, who make the event possible. A majority of our volunteers will come from non-profit organizations. If you represent a non-profit looking for a fundraiser, please click HERE to view the opportunities available and register your organization.
