Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K and Super Villain 10K

The Asheville Brewing Super Hero 5K/Super Villain 5K, Presented by Black Orthodontics, will return on Saturday, September 11 and once again start and finish at the Salvage Station.  We will use the same courses we debuted in 2019, which allow people of all abilities to dress up and participate. 

The 5K and 10K will start at 8:30 AM; the Super Walk at 8:35 AM. 

Registration

Online registration opens on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 9:00 AM and closes on Thursday, September 9 at 9:00 PM.

Packet Pickup/Late Registration

Friday, September 10 – 4:00-6:00 PM – The Salvage Station (468 Riverside Drive)

Saturday, September 11 – 7:00-8:15 AM – The Salvage Station

Course(s)

Super Walk (1 Mile) 
The Super Walk will include those wanting a shorter trip but the same Super experience. It will go down Riverside Drive to the train trestle and back.

Super Villain 10K 
This race will head up Riverside Drive to Broadway and the Reedy Creek Greenway before heading up into Montford then returning to the Salvage Station.

Super Hero 5K 
This race will go the opposite direction as the 10K and will include flat sections on Riverside Drive and Craven Street and a few ups and downs in West Asheville.

Stuff

The Asheville Running Experience is offering shirts for all events on an ala carte basis.  These are short-sleeve, cotton blend shirts with the 2021 race art.

 

Post Race

All pre and post-race activities will take place at The Salvage Station. Post race refreshments will be provided along with a selection of beer from Asheville Brewing Company for our of-age runners. Near the finish line on the main stage will be live music and both awards ceremonies.

The 5K awards ceremony at approximately 9:45 AM with the 10K to follow at 10:30 AM.

Awards

Special, commemorative awards will be given to the first three male and female overall and top male and female masters of both races.

Age group prizes will also be awarded. The categories will be announced prior to the event.

 

Timing

Both races will utilize chip timing. A timing chip will be on the back of your race bib, which should be worn on your front and visible at all times during the race.

Dogs

Per Salvage Station rules, dogs are not permitted anywhere on the property.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking at The Salvage Station.

Cancellations & Transfers

Glory Hound Events has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.

If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Discount codes can be used to register for the 2022 event.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted through September 4 by completing and submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.

Volunteers

We love our volunteers, who make the event possible. A majority of our volunteers will come from non-profit organizations. If you represent a non-profit looking for a fundraiser, please click HERE to view the opportunities available and register your organization.
