The Kiwanis Club of Asheville invites you to join us for the as we celebrate the 23rd year of our race on the iconic Biltmore Estate. This majestic course should be on every runners bucket list! Starting near the estate winery, we will wind through scenic property, passing by America’s oldest private residence and through the fragrant gardens, taking in the undisturbed beauty that the Vanderbilts fell in love with over a century ago.

October 6-December 31, 2019: 15K-$55, 5K-$40
January 1-June 30, 2020: 15K-$60, 5K-$45
July 1 thru race day: 15K-$65, 5K-$50

All entry fees include one entry ticket onto the Biltmore Estate (excluding the house) through 1:00 PM on race day.

A spectator ticket is required for each guest that is not running the race regardless of age. These tickets may be purchased at packet pick-up on race Saturday and Sunday. The cost per race day spectator ticket is $23 plus tax or $18 plus tax for a Biltmore Pass Holder.

Registration Protection Insurance Program
Through our registration platform, IMAthlete, we are offering this insurance from Allianz Global Assistance. Those purchasing this insurance during online registration are eligible to be reimbursed for the cost of your registration fee should you become injured or another event procludes you from racing. It does not cover COVID-19, including registration fees lost due to races being postponed or cancelled because of the pandemic.

Should you not purchase the insurance at the time of registration, you have 14 days to go back and purchase it should you decide at a later time you want it.

Both races are run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. During the event, vehicular traffic will be limited and controlled. Both courses are USATF certified. Chip timing will be used for both races. Pre-race training prior to the event is prohibited since the entire course is on paved roads with heavy vehicular traffic and on the private property of the Biltmore Estate. Due to directional flow for traffic, it will not be possible to drive the course as it is to be run. All participants must be off the course prior to 9:45 a.m.

15K Course Description
The 15K course is run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. Beginning at the Winery Village area, the course climbs to the Deerpark Restaurant then descends and climbs along the main road to Biltmore House, where runners will loop in front of its massive front doors. Runners will then circle through the Walled Garden, pass by the Azalea Garden and lagoon along the French Broad River, and finish by returning to the Winery. The first half of the course has two challenging hills, while the second half is downhill-to-flat.

5K Course Description
The 5K course is run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. The 5K Course is a flat, out-and-back course starting at the Winery and paralleling the French Broad River. It is a great course to get a running PR!

All 5K and 15K runners will receive a short-sleeve cotton/tech blend shirt. Those wanting a short-sleeve tech shirt may pay $5 extra during registration.

Shirts will be ordered on September 21 so anyone registering after that date may not receive a shirt and/or in the size they prefer. We encourage you to register before this date.

Biltmore General Policies And Guidelines
Biltmore in Asheville, NC, offers breathtaking beauty with Biltmore House – America’s largest home created by George Vanderbilt in 1895. More than 1 million guests now enjoy the home and magnificent gardens along with Antler Hill Village & Winery each year.

The 15k will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. and 5k at 7:45 a.m. All runners must be on the property by 6:30 a.m. to run. Expect a line of cars at the Biltmore entry gate. In addition, allow a minimum of 15 min. to get from the Biltmore entrance to the parking lots because the traffic will be heaviest, and slowest, as race time approaches.

Runners and spectators must use the Antler Hill Village lane at the Admissions Booth. Have tickets in hand and visible to stop and show when entering the property and until you park at Antler Hill Village, as it will speed the entry process for all.

Unless upgraded, you race/spectator ticket is valid only for the race course and Antler Hill Village areas until 1:00 p.m. only. It cannot be used to access the Biltmore House & Gardens or other areas of the property.

All vehicles must be parked in the designated parking areas. Parking on paved roads and blocking roads is not permitted. Cars parked illegally will be ticketed an are subject to being towed.

Runners and spectators are encouraged to carpool.

Restrooms are located at the Winery, Antler Hill Village, the conservatory and along the race routes.

No strollers, skateboards, bikes, or dogs permitted on the race course.

All participants and spectators are expected to display courteous, professional behavior at all times.
Once finished with their races, runners are not permitted back on the racecourse. All runners must be off the course by 9:45 a.m.

Due to the nature of the event being on Biltmore’s property, there is a time limit for the event. The 15k Runners must be past the Biltmore House by 9:00 am. For the safety of the runners and the guests at Biltmore Estate, if 15k runners are not past the House by 9:00 am, our SAG vehicle will pick the runner-up and take them back to the start/finish area.

The Biltmore Company is not responsible for the security of personal belongings.
Inclement weather: In the event of dangerous weather conditions, organizers reserve the right to cancel the race. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

In the event of an emergency, call (828) 225-1234. Biltmore staff will dispatch strategically positioned medical, fire or police resources to your location.

Spectator viewings are limited to the start/finish area in Antler Hill Village. Spectators are required to purchase a ticket to enter the estate and are available on Sunday morning starting at 6 a.m. from the Group Sales office at the front entrance of the Estate, for $23+ tax per person. Any child of a spectator between the ages of 10-16 will pay the regular ticket rate of $23+ tax and children age 9 and under accompanied by a paying parent will be admitted free.

Race/Spectator tickets may be upgraded to include a visit to the Biltmore House & Gardens for $29+ tax. The Youth House upgrade price is $14.50+ tax. You can also upgrade your ticket for a Biltmore Annual Pass for $119+ tax. Visit the Estate’s Reception & Ticket Center or the guest service station at Antler Hill Village to upgrade your ticket.

Post Race

Runners will be able to refuel with assorted snacks and drinks in the parking lot below the finish line.



Special awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female.

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups:

15 & Under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

Please plan on being present for the awards ceremony or make arrangements for someone else to pick up your award. Awards will not be mailed.


These races will utilize chip timing.

The chips are attached to the back of your race bib so don’t crinkle them. Please make sure your bib is visible on your front at all times, but especially when crossing the finish line.

Refunds & Transfers

The Kiwanis Club of Asheville has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods.
If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 4 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 7 days days before the event, if the event is not sold out.

If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 4 days days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days days before the event, if the event is sold out.

Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2021 event.

This policy only applies to the Biltmore/Kiwanis 15K/5K Classic. Discount codes from the previous year may not be used for any other events owned or managed by Glory Hound Events or its partnerships.

Transfers of entries between participants will be accepted by submitting this Transfer Form. This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.
