Thank you to everyone who came out for the third Haw Creek Hustle, hosted by the Haw Creek Community Association.  We are grateful to all of the participants, sponsors, volunteers who made the event so successful. Final results are posted below.

February 1-28: 5K-30; Fun Run-$10

March 1-April 30: 5K-$35; Fun Run-$10

May 1 thru race day: 5K-40; Fun Run-$10

Packet Pickup/Late Registration

Schedule – Saturday, May 16

7:00-8:45 AM –  Packet Pickup/Late Registration – Charlie Bullman Park (719 New Haw Creek Road, Asheville NC 28805)

We will accept on-site registration up to 15 minutes before the start of each event.

8:30 AM – Fun Run Start

9:00 AM – 5K Start

10:15 AM – 5K Awards (approximately)

Course(s)

All races start and finish at Charlie Bullman Park in East Asheville.

The 5K is a counter-clockwise course on mostly quiet roads in Haw Creek.  The Fun Run will take place in the area of Charlie Bullman Park and on the trails of Evergreen Charter School.

There will be one water station on the 5K course, about half way through the race.

Volunteers will be stationed at each turn and there will be signs marking every turn.  There will be police stationed at key intersections.

We ask you to stay to the right side of the road and run alone whenever possible.

Stuff

All 5K runners will receive a custom race shirt. Fun Runners will receive a fun prize at the finish line.

Shirts will be ordered on  May 6 so anyone registering after that date may not receive a shirt and/or in the size they prefer.

 

Post Race

Water and light snacks will be provided near the finish line.  

The Haw Creek Association will once again be raffling off a goody bag full of of great merchandise.  You may purchase your raffle ticket for $1 each during online registration or on-site on race day.  Details about the bag contents will be coming soon.

Awards

The awards ceremony for the 5K will take place at approximately 10:15 AM near the finish area.

Special prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female and top masters (40 & Over) male and female.  

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups:

12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over

Timing

The race will utilize chip timing. The chips are attached to the back of your race bib so don’t crinkle them.  Please wear your bib on the front of your clothing so we can see it at the finish line.

Dogs

Well behaved dogs with current tags and vaccinations on a short leash are welcome.

Parking

There are two large parking lots at the park, offering plenty of parking for the event.

Cancellations & Transfers

The Haw Creek Community Association has a NO REFUND/NO DEFERRAL policy.

Transfers

To transfer your registration to another person please log into Race Roster and select Transfer where prompted.  All transfers must be completed by Thursday, May 14 at 9:00 PM EST.

This is the only way transfers or the selling of bibs between participants will be allowed. Anyone who is discovered to have purchased or accepted another person’s bib without submitting this form will be disqualified and banned from future races.

Volunteers

Great races don’t happen without great volunteers. If you would like to be part of this event, support the Haw Creek Community Association & the WNC Youth Sports Association’s effort to rehabilitate Charlie Bullman Park and be there in various ways for runners and walkers, we would love to have you.
