Join us for the 14th Annual Power of Pink 5K in the Historic Frog Level of Downtown Waynesville for a fun morning of running, walking and raising money for this important cause. Since the event was created in 2007, over 1,800 mammograms and follow-up procedures have been provided to over 900 male and female residents of Haywood County.

Groups of 5+ are encouraged and will get a discount on registration fees for the 5K. The group rate is $20 per person, groups must register under one “Team Name”. The group leader should register first, pick the team name and then group members may register under that same team name. There is no limit to the total amount of group members, the more the merrier!
Registration Protection Insurance Program
Through our registration platform, IMAthlete, we are offering this insurance from Allianz Global Assistance. Those purchasing this insurance during online registration are eligible to be reimbursed for the cost of your registration fee should you become injured or another event procludes you from racing. It does not cover COVID-19, including registration fees lost due to races being postponed or cancelled because of the pandemic.
Should you not purchase the insurance at the time of registration, you have 14 days to go back and purchase it should you decide at a later time you want it.
There will be no on-site registration. All participants must pre-register by 9:00 PM on Thursday, September 24
Our course in Frog Level will take runners from the start in front of Panacea and Frog Level Brewing on a lollipop shaped course along Sulphur Springs Road. This course is super flat with only 77 feet of elevation gain along the course.
In lieu of shirts this year, each participant will receive a very nice water bottle they can take with them on the course and use after the event.
The Town of Waynesville has an ordinance prohibiting the use of tobacco and e-cigarettes in business districts, which includes the venue where this event will take place.
Following the race, participants may enjoy food and music, take part in the gift basket raffle and watch the awards ceremony.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female, the top masters male and female and the top 3 male/female in the following age groups: 14&Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70&Over. The top dog in the race is also presented with an award and we will award plenty of team prizes. We anticipate the awards ceremony starting at 10:15 AM.
The race will utilize chip timing. Chips are located on your race bib which must be worn on the front of your race clothes.
Dogs will not be allowed at this year’s event.
We have two great parking options for you: the Haywood County Parking Deck on Branner Avenue or Haywood Builders Supply (100 Charles Street). Both are .25 mile from the race site.
There is no parking on Commerce Street during the event.
The event has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods. If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days days prior to the race date. Partial discount codes are only available for cancellations of completed registrations. A registration is considered incomplete if payment was mailed in and has not yet been received. Discount codes can be used to register for the 2021 event and will be valid for 12 months after the event date.
This policy only applies to the Power of Pink 5K. Discount codes from the previous year may not be used for any other events owned or managed by Glory Hound Events or its partnerships.
