Lake Logan returns for its thirteenth year and the same format as the last two years.  This triathlon festival, Presented by Asheville School, includes the extremely popular Lake Logan Half (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) returns this year as the only race on Saturday.  The original Lake Logan International race (1500m swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run) will highlight the Sunday schedule along with the Lake Logan Sprint (500m swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run).

There are few places in multisport where only one word can describe the essence of the place and the event. In the Southeast that word is Logan or more specifically Lake Logan. For those who raced here or have heard the stories, Logan means breathtaking beauty, a wet-suit legal swim in the heat of the summer, a rolling bike course that is flatter than people imagine in the mountains and a shaded run course along a scenic river.

The weekend will retain the same schedule as the past three years with the Lake Logan Half on Saturday and the international and sprint races on Sunday.

Individual Events

Lake Logan Half – Saturday, August 3 : Event Page
1.2 mile Swim, 56 mile Bike, 13.1 mile Run

The 1.2 mile one lap swim in this pristine mountain lake has a unique course starting near the main docks but finishing under the highway bridge in the mouth of the river. The 56-mile bike course will follow most of the International race course and include a loop through Clyde and the farmlands of northern Haywood County. The 13.1 mile two loop run course is an out-and-back along a two-lane, tree canopied road along the river. It has a 1-2% grade on the outbound leg, almost guaranteeing a negative split on the downhill inbound legs.

The original triathlon at Lake Logan turns fourteen years old on Sunday, August 4. The international distance race has quickly become one of the premier races in the Southeast, attracting athletes from across the country. The Sunday date provides a great option for couples wanting a variety of races to choose from over the weekend.
