Saturday, August 5, 5:00-6:30 AM – Lake Logan Episcopal Center – Lake Logan Half Only
Swim – The 2023 swim course will be two loops in Lake Logan. The swim will start at the dock and follow a clock-wise, rectangular course. After completing the second loop, participants will finish at the beach. Athletes will then run on a combination of grass and payment (approximately .1 mile) to T1. An area will be provided near the beach for athletes to place shoes for the run to TA.
Bike – Athletes will run their bike out of transition to Lake Logan Road before mounting. The course will take them east to Canton, through Clyde and into the Ironduff and Crabtree sections of Haywood County before returning through Clyde and Bethel. The bike course has approximately 5,436 feet of ascent over the 56 miles.
There will be two bottled hand-off stations on the course in Clyde (Mile 20) and Lake Junaluska (Mile 37). We will be handing off sport-cap bottles of water and taking any bottles you want to dispose of.

Run – The run course is a two-loop, out and back course on Lake Logan Road west of Lake Logan. Once returning to the LLEC, runners will complete a lap in the grass field behind the transition area before proceeding back to the course for the second lap or to the finish line. There is an elevation gain on the outward half of the course of 199′ or 398′ for the entire half marathon.
There will be three aid stations on the run course that you will see twice. Each station will have water, Gatorade and packaged snacks.
Cut-Off Times – All participants must complete the race in under 8 hours. The swim must be completed in no more than 1 hour – 30 minutes from the time the participant started. The bike must be completed in no more than 5 hours from the time the participant started. Participants must finish the entire race under 8 hours from the start of the event. Race officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to meet the above time requirements.
Stuff
Everyone who completes the Lake Logan Half will receive a very cool medal at the finish line.
