The 2020 Lake Logan Multisport Festival, Presented by Asheville School, is being postponed until 2021. This year’s event was going to be special, celebrating fifteen years of multisport racing at Lake Logan but COVID-19 has created overwhelming challenges.
Through guidance provided by USA Triathlon and local officials, we have looked at every aspect of the weekend to try to make it work. In the end, we decided we cannot produce an event that is both safe and enjoyable.
We will reconvene for our fifteenth year of racing on August 7-8, 2021
Registration for the 2021 Lake Logan Half will begin fall 2020.
Race Cap: 500
Swim – The swim will start at the dock and follow a clock-wise, rectangular course finishing at a floating dock located just past the bridge. Athletes will then run on grass to T1.
Bike – Athletes will run their bike out of transition to Lake Logan Road before mounting. The course will take them east to Canton, through Clyde and into the Ironduff and Crabtree sections of Haywood County before returning through Clyde and Bethel.
Run – The run course is a two-loop, out and back course on Lake Logan Road west of Lake Logan. Once returning to the LLEC, runners will complete a lap in the grass field behind the transition area before proceeding back to the course for the second lap or to the finish line. There is an elevation gain on the outward half of the course of 199′ or 398′ for the entire half marathon.
If you have lodging reserved at Lake Logan, please consider keeping it and using this as a low stress, training weekend where you can still enjoy the beauty and amenities of the Lake Logan Conference Center.
