Cherokee Harvest Half Marathon

As we start winding down 2021 and the start of the comeback for endurance racing in the mountains of Western North Carolina, we are excited to begin announcing the initial Glory Hound Events races for 2022. This is just an initial list of what we have in store for next year. There are some surprises in the works and then confirming dates and details for some of your favorite races that are typically later in the season which include the Land & Sky Relay, Asheville Brewing Superhero 5K & Super Villain 10K, and The Ascent At Mountain Air 5K.

So mark your calendars, set your goals, and get ready to make 2022 one of YOUR best years in endurance racing. We can’t wait to see you at the starting line.

Asheville Catholic School Shamrock 5K & 10K – March 12

Registration Is Open
Celebrating 15 years in 2022, These races always kick off our season and are always a great time. The 5K and 10K both start and finish at Asheville Catholic School, running through the beautiful neighborhoods of North Asheville.

Gateway To The Smokies Half Marathon – April 02

Registration Is Open
Returning for a second year this scenic half marathon starts in the middle of Waynesville and winds through its neighborhoods and countryside. It is run in conjunction with the Mighty Four Miler To Benefit The Riley Howell Foundation.

Glory Hound Events is once again privileged to honor the sacrifice and heroism of Riley Howell and to be able to support the efforts of the Riley Howell Foundation with this super fun race that runs in conjunction with the Gateway to the Smokies Half Marathon. Fire Mountain Inferno – April 23 & 24

Registration Is Open
A weekend of mountain bike racing on some of the flowiest trails in the southeast, the Fire Mountain Trails in Cherokee, NC. There will be one day of Enduro racing and a day of Cross Country racing. Join us for a day or go for a Dante’s Double by completing both days of racing.

Downhill At Dawn Half Marathon – May 28

Registration Is Open
A favorite of many, this mostly downhill half marathon takes runners on a scenic combination of paved and forested gravel roads from the Ridgecrest Conference Center to Old Fort, NC.

The Scream! Half Marathon – July 09

Registration Is Open
After 10 years of using the same course and requiring runners to use two separate shuttles, we are changing things up for the start of our second decade. The new course will be inside the Wilson Creek Recreation Area – and will be an out-and-back race, entirely along the river with a 2% elevation gain going out and a 2% descent coming back. It’s not quite the downhill of the original course, but your quads will thank you later. The field is still limited to 350 participants by the US Forest Service and will sell out quickly.

Highland Brewing Night Flight – July 16

Registration Opens Spring 2022
Asheville’s favorite twilight race and one of the best post-race parties around takes place at Highland Brewing Company. The best part of this race is that it’s all for a good cause. 100% of race proceeds go to supporting our greenways in Asheville and Buncombe County through our partners at Connect Buncombe.

Geyser Growl Half Marathon – Oct. 22

Registration Is Open
Returning for year two, this new half marathon takes racers from the Town of Black Mountain to Old Fort, NC. If you love racing on scenic forest roads, on a mostly downhill course, and a finish line that includes a locally crafted beer be sure to register for this one.
